This was the worst update I have ever had for any device. The first issue I'm having is that they never did fix the static problem, cause actually it's worse. As sad as it is so glad I don't talk on my phone that much and only use my data plan. Cause the sound is so awful. At boot up my phone is faster but now loading stuff is so slow and painful to watch.
I'm just disappointed in Samsung for not fixing a issue that was mentioned by the update PDF as "Complete calls without experiencing choppy audio, clicking noises and/or one-way audio noises." Keyword there is "without".
Also sadden by the fact that sliding backgrounds have been taken out. Those are my main problems with this update, except don't need to explain the rest in detail.
I just wish that Samsung could just give us ICS.
I understand your discontent with the most recent software update. A factory reset http://goo.gl/tbjkt has resolved multiple post software update issues for others. I understand that this is not a popular troubleshooting option; however, I highly recommend doing it as it may resolve the issues outlined in your post.

I agree with this being the worst update so far. Before the FP1 everything ran fast, didn't lag, didn't have really any problems other than being on my THIRD replacement phone and refusing to replace it again because of the issues i'm having. Sonce this update and all the bloatware added almost all my apps force close, data has become horrible, and today after having facebook force close on me then having to reboot it twice it still took me 15 minutes to pull up a picture. This update still hasn't removed the clicking and now i get a screech every once in a while. It has gotten to where the AP app that comes with the phone takes hours to refresh as well. Not to mention the fact that it has the 30 second freeze a la pre gingerbread when flipping through home pages and facebook. Verizon needs to get it together with their customer service. The 5 years i was with sprint after having to replace phones for the third time i was always given a FREE upgrade to whatever phone i wanted. Bringing this issue up with verizon they wanted to downgrade me! These problems need to be fixed because with the last upgrade my phone worked great and now it's a piece of junk.
