Would anyone know why I no longer get the Facebook icon in my notification bar at the top of my phone when I get messages or other alerts from Facebook? I used to get a small F when I had a notification. Thanks in advance.
Check your notification settings in your Facebook app. (1) Open the FB app, (2) click the menu button on your DInc, (3) scroll down to notification settings and see whether any of those alert boxes are presently checked. If they are, the next thing I would look at would be to see whether your phone is syncing with the FB app.
I never got the "F" in the notification bar on the DInc even after I updated the settings in the FB app, only text messages.
I had to purchase and download this app called 'facebook plus' also known as blue notify to receive those type of notifications. Works pretty well, but sucks that it was not a free app

the fb app is a poor app....period. vzn can't help you with it as it's not their app. i would suggest that you just sign up for text alerts (on fb) for the particular notifications that you want.
I do not have the same gripes for the FB app as you and others. It operates and satisfies me according to the expectations I have given it. I do think FB designed a better iPhone app, but I would not say that this one is altogether terrible. I regularly get notifications of things I have received on FB. You could, I suppose, sign up for email notifications, and therefore receive the notifications via your email application on your DInc.
