Nope. Facetime is an Apple only program

I haven't heard about any hack to make it work between the two.

Curious, is skype or another video chat service available on the iPhone, or is Apple up to their old tricks with that one too?

That is very possible that another video chat provider would have both iPhone and Android apps to talk between the two. But the question was about Facetime which unless Apple changes their ways, will never develop an Android app for facetime.

Thanks for your help everyone.. Just learned from my wife that a co-worker of hers has an iPhone and uses Facetime between iPhones and Skype between iPhone and Android phones..  Said Skype sometimes she has hangup issues when using Skype.

You may want to check this out on the Apple site about using Fasetime to Skype......  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3343464?start=0&tstart=0 , I am wondering if they have their iphone jailbroke and useing a modified build to be able to communicate cross platform..

I have also seen that Qik also works between platforms, but haven't actually used it.
