Fed Up!!

I have had it with Verizon not updating the current Android issue where the phone will shut itself off and on for no apparent reason. It has gotten even worse in the last week where now I can't even receive a txt and call without the phone shutting itself off. I was told by the store that I had to wait another TWO weeks before Android came out with an update to fix these issues. This is the most ABSURD thing I have ever heard. Funny how these issues with Android didn't start occurring with my phone until Verizon started selling the IPhone. Verizon's customer service has gone down hill in a matter of a a few months. If Verizon doesn't fix this issue ASAP, they will be losing another customer.

My guess, an corrupt app or app conflict. My Dinc, never had this issue.....pre or post iPhone and I know many others who have or had Dinc's that never had this occur.

I understand how frustrating it must be to have a phone that is constantly resetting at various times.

I'd like to see if I can give you some tips in order to correct your issues.

Had you recently added any new applications before this issue started?

Do you notice it shuts down when you use a specific function of the phone? (i.e. messaging, browser, email, apps)

Do you get any error message prior to the phone resetting?

Do you have advanced task killer or an anti-virus application installed on your phone? If so, please remove the application as these 2 applications have been known to adversely affect the phone.

First, you should clear history/cache/cookies because it is very possible you have a lot of information on the phone that is bogging down the memory, which can also cause the phone to reset. I normally clear mine at least once per month to ensure my Android runs smoothly.

Secondly, I would recommend putting the phone in Safe Mode.

Safe Mode temporarily disables all applications that have been installed via the Android Market. Performing this troubleshooting step is necessary to determine whether a 3rd party application is the cause of an Operating System / Application issue. Safe Mode should always be performed prior to a hard (factory) reset.

Once in safe mode, do your normal calling & texting to see if it resets the phone again. If it runs smootly without resetting, we know there is an issue with an application on the phone. You can either start deleting applications or start the phone fresh with a master reset which is the final step of troubleshooting to get your phone back to normal. One of these (if not all 3) of these steps should definitely resolve your issues.
