I love everything about the phone except for the fact that the screen is a fingerprint magnet. I am interested to hear everyone's opinion on a screen guard that works well and will allow me to keep fingerprints and smudges off of my X screen. I have tried some products and when I apply them to the screen I am left with bubbles and it looks terrible.

I iniitially put a screen guard on my DX, just because I used to do that with my older phone. It definitely made the screen look less clear/different than not having one on. I abandoned the screen protector after about 3 weeks and never looked back,.It is Gorrilla glass and really is hard to scratch. But then again, I am careful with it but don't use a case either. I just make sure I don't put it in my pocket with keys or change or anything hard.
As far as smudges -- yep, just the nature of a touch screen ... they ALL have this issue, even the iPhone and iPad products.
I do NOT spray it or apply anything special to clean it. What I do is give it a swipe with a soft cotton cloth (or my shirt). When it gets REALLY messy, I use one of those microfibre cloths that come with eye glasses; works great with a little bit of breath on the phone first. But I would never "spray" it with anything. I would think that could damage the phone if the moisture gets inside.

What's kinda funny is that unless I've been texting or emailing, a person that picked up my phone could probably figure out my 'security swipe' just by looking at the smear pattern... I've noticed that a few times when I picked the phone up that my 'security swipe' was EASILY discernable... It's not a simple '4 dot swipe' but at worst they would have to pick which direction it went...

i use a damp(not wet towel) and then a clean, dry towel to wipe it off.

I initially used the anti-glare screen protectors from Verizon. They worked really well and I liked them. Then I tried a Steinheil "Ultra Chrystal" which I also like.
The anti-glare one from Verizon worked a little better when I was outside, but I very seldom use my phone outside other that answering calls. The Steinheil is not anti-glare but that doesn't seam to make much difference to me so right now the Ultra-Chrystal Steinheil is on my "X". Neither screen protectors have had any scratches on them, but I'm pretty easy on my phones so that's not out of the ordinary for me.
But like some other posters have said, the "X" has gorrila glass which is like titanium that you can see through.
Good luck....

Just be aware that this usually voids the warranty.
As far as fingerprints and smudges, I've never had that problem...?
The only way I can get a fingerprint to show up on the screen is if I press really hard and long on the screen, which I never do in regular use. As far as smudges, I don't have that problem either.
Maybe my hands just aren't as oily as most peoples'. But if I DO happen to get a fingerprint on there, a simple wipe on my shirt completely cleans it. I don't see how anyone can have a serious problem with this.
