Flash option doesn't work

The flash option doesn't work on my Moto Droid.  I've tried changing the flash option to on, but when I take pictures in low lit areas it doesn't flash. 

 

Any suggestions?

With your camera on, hit Menu > Settings. The first option is Flash mode. Tap it to choose Auto, On or Off.  You can also try, in the settings, select Scene mode, and set it to Auto. Your flash should now be available for setting.
