Freezing issues

I just got my droid yesterday and so far I have really been happy with it, but I have been noticing that there has been a good deal of freezing involved with checking txt messages...

When I slide to unlock the phone and click on the messages icon, everything is fine, however when I get to the text message if I go to hit the reply box it freezes and gives me an option to either wait or force close the application.  I have just been hitting wait and it seems to be fine after that, but I was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem or if maybe I should be concerned and get my unit swapped out for a new one.

Just curious (and obviously want to make sure there is nothing wrong with my phone).

Thanks.

I'm now having the same issue. From what I have seen, it happens when I hit the power button for the screen, to lock it while in a text message convo. I performed a hard rest, no change, still happens. If I don't lock in while in a text message thread, it doesn't happen.

A fix needed perhaps?

It can happen for a multitude of reasons. If you're using a Task Killer, I suggest looking at the tasks, to exclude one or two, say messaging, etc.

If you're consistently ending all applications, sometimes they tie into each other so that it can get pretty sticky. Also I noticed that sometimes when  using the Droid, parts of your hands tend to hit parts of the screen it's not supposed to, so it seems that it does get dodgey, or twitchy.

However, if you've done a hard reset, and the problem ensues, I strongly suggest to go take it to a Verizon store to get it replaced. The first devices are always the worst 😕

Yeah, I don't know that this is something that a task killer has anything to do with because it happened right after a hard reset so...I'm thinking the return might be a good idea.

Try using a 3rd party SMS app like Handcent for ChompSMS. I perfer Handcent... It may be a bug in the stock messanger. Over the next few weeks, I'm sure a few standard bugs will start to arise...
