Droid OS update to 2.2 did not work today from Extended network in Juneau Alaska. Didn't receive notification of upgrade availability but used systems update in settings. Immediately said it was updating and had strong 4-bars of 3G while trying, but 3.5 hours later it was still "updating", so I hit the back button and all returned to normal, meaning still has 2.1 firmware. First call to tech support didn't result in answer. So, how do I update?

you can do the manual update found http://www.droid-life.com/2010/08/26/manually-update-to-frg22d-froyo-for-droid-now/. You can either download it on your computer and rename it to update.zip and the move it to your sd card or download it in the web browser on the droid and use Astro (available free in the market) to move it from your Download folder to the root of the SD Card and change the filename to update.zip.
