Just as the title says... updated to 2.2 this morning via OTA notification, nothing but troube since.

  • Battery life has been reduced to 4 - 5 hours on full charge.
  • Email does not work send or receive
  • Will not import files from SD card
  • New "Bloatware" crap installed by update will start up regardless of killing task
  • Phone locks up 2/3 times and battery has to be pulled
  • list goes on and on and on

As a last resort, I did a factory reset to no avail.  Same issues as above.  This device will be going back to verizon tomorrow and I refuse to get another Incredible due to this piece of **bleep** update.

I am right there with you ...but I have read and heard several people saying the Task Killer is no longer necessary on 2.2. I uninstalled it and it worked a little better, but overall the new software is absolute garbage. The task killer is useless because the new software will always have applications running in the background, although the amount of internal memory should be plenty to cover those running apps ...or atleast it is suppose to be! Yeah the new software looks pretty and is accepted by the easily amused, but by comparison, the previous software was much more stable!!!!

Ive been charging my phone for nearly 5 hours and have about a quarter of a battery! Yeah I am in the process of obtaining another incredible with 2.1 still on it and hopefully avoid this mistake of installing "froyo". This is a bigger let down than Vista, haha!

I am right there with you and agree 100%.  The thing that **bleep** me off the most is the fact that Verizon held out this long on releasing, "to ensure proper testing and functionality" on the Incredible and the is the piece of **bleep** we get.

It's amazing, the Incredible went from being the best phone I have ever owned to hands down the worse in less than 12 hours time.

Amazing

It is amazing ...the longer the hold out the bigger the hype was, and for what? Sad part is Verizon cannot do anything about it other than push you out 'certified/like new' devices until youre blue in the face.

Wish the BlackBerry Torch was on Verizon ...atleast we have come to expect limitations from BlackBerry.

My screen has been horrible with responding, and has been switching back and forth from portrait to landscape mode withhout any change in angle or direction on my part. Multitasking isn't as good as it was on 2.1, and has frozen on me several times. Is anybody getting a white screen periodically with HTC showing and then loading back to the home screen?

I have to Agree. the software is crap.  Caused nothing but a huge headache.  I love this phone. now I just want to throw it against the wall.  what was verizon thinking when they released the software.

I agree. What a worthless piece of cow dung. My phone goes into reboot mode if the signal gets the least bit weak and makes it totally useless. The 720p on the camera is a joke. All the extra apps running that will not stay shutdown is a real crock. Need a way to undo it.

It's sad to see that will all the complaints about the 2.2 update, not just on this Verizon forum but other Android forums, that Verizon will not release a way to rollback to version 2.1.

Nor do they have the guts to admit a mistake.  I will be heading to the Verizon store today to dump this POS and demand one with 2.1 installed or I will change phones.

I tried going to a verizon store for a replacement and was told all new/certified like new phones have 2.2 on it. After speaking to several reps at the store and thru c/s, all are saying I have been the only one who has had these sort of issues? Seriously?

I am constantly pulling the battery out in hope of the software working properly but no luck so far. It has gotten so bad that now all my icons on each home screen are out of line/crooked revealing the messiness of the software.
