I saw the following on another board. "I called Verizon tech support today. They said the 2.2 update was suspended for the Incredible because the Motorola update was erroneously sent and was causing some Incredible devices to break."
Anyone heard anything about this?

I was told the same thing by a rep. I actually had the update in August and it worked great, but due to a smashed phone I had to start over and am stuck back with 2.1. Please Verizon, get the update pushed again!

I just got the phone with a Verizon and HTC rep. I was told that the 2.2 update for the HTC DINC has been postponed until further notice by Google. According to the HTC rep it was due to some problems with the marketplace not showing up on some of the updated phones. I knew when I choose the HTC over the Motorola there was a chance of having to wait longer for updates because of the SenseUI, but I did not imagine it would be this long a wait.
Oh yeah, just for the record the HTC guy claims that Google handles all the update pushes. He told me like twice "If you think about it that only makes sense, since we don't have any servers (networks?)" I had read in more than one place that HTC handled the push and even the Verizon rep told me that HTC handled the push.
I guess the three corps in this have an easy way to point the finger at one of the other two?

There is currently no information on the release of the update for that device. Enhancements to better the phones overall operation are a priority, but there is not a scheduled software upgrade date, as operating system upgrades talk time to develop to ensure a smooth transition.

HUH? I was asking about the CURRENT update of 2.2 for the Incredible, someone was told by VZW the OTA updates have been suspended due to the Moto Version of 2.2 being pushed to the Incredible by mistake, bricking the phone. .

Ever since Froyo (Android 2.2) has been uploaded to my HTC Incredible... it doesn't work nearly as well as it use to. For instance, Voice Mail (visual) never works anymore. I have to power off the phone and restart to see/listen to voice mails. Also, on occasion, the Answer buttons lock up... meaning that I can't answer a call. Starting to really not like this phone and was wondering if it had anything to do with the wrong 2.2 being pushed. Sounds like I am not alone on this issue either!

I eventually got through to a Verizon CSR who put me through to an HTC CSR. The HTC CSR had me do a factory setting restore (Hard Reset) and the do the "checkin" call. When the phone would not update after thathe suggest I take it in to a Verizon store for a replacement.
Verizion replaced the phone for a refurb with 2.2 pre-loaded.
