I had an auto upgrade to 4.5.605 last week and now my GPS does not work. It worked fine before that. Any suggestions or how to roll back to the prior version

You can't roll back - without violating TOS ... But some have encountered the GPS issue that you're probably describing and seem to have resolved it by simply "recalibrating" their GPS ... Personally I had no GPS issues at all after the upgrade. Good luck.

Sorry ... yes, Compass ..... Very strange that you're not seeing ANY Satellites ... there is an APP that can "test" you phone ...
"z-Device test" is the free APP ... It can test everything to make sure the phone is functioning properly, including the GPS part of it. Give it a try ... If that APP can't detect an issue probably time to go to Verizon store. Maybe you have a h/w issue??? Did you do a Factory Reset?

downloaded z-device. the line nmea keeps blinking $gpgss....
I didn't want to reset my device as I have so much stuff on it and don't want to reload all my apps and data. Also, I want the last update that I have before this one. I can't imagine that this is hardware since it happened right after I got the upload. Also, the market place app only sometimes works. it says no connection even though i am on wifi. Sometimes this is fixed after a reboot. I guess this is why people get I phones.

the iPhone is no panacea ... you can see the problems on iPhone over on their forum(s). These are "smart phones" and sometimes just require more effort to fix ...
if GPS worked fine before the update and you did NOT do a Factory Reset prior, you will be most likely be required to do one if you take it to verizon for support (or call them). Yes, a F.R. can be painful because you have to recustomize everything and re-download everything. The ones you PAID for will be in Market after the F.R. -- all of the free ones will have to be found and redownloaded - that is, they won't aotomatically show up in "MY APPS" in market after a F.R.
You have a choice to make this as easy as possible by installing ($$) a Backup APP that will back up your data and generate a list of your APPS ... or you can just write down all of your APPS so you have a list. (that's how I did it).
Lastly, did you try running in SAFE MODE just to make sure you don't have a rogue app that is causing your problem???
good luck.
