Gmail not syncing

I've been having a number of issues since the Gingerbread update. I've seen a few mentioned here already: the Sprint market, phone storage low notification, and incorrect screen size in phone information.
I'm also having difficulty with my Gmail not syncing after the update. I don't see the most recent messages in my inbox when I go into Gmail, and clicking the refresh button or the "sync all" widget doesn't help at all. I also go to my account settings and try to manually refresh my google account. But none of that does any good, still can't get my most recent emails.
Anybody else having this issue after the Gingerbread update?
The fast boot is great, but it seems like Gingerbread has caused more issues than it's solved, kinda wishing I had told my phone not to update.

Actually, going through the Gmail help menu in the phone, it does state that if your phone has the low memory notification on, it will not sync e-mails. It seems that the Gingerbread update file is quite large, so I went and cleared some extra space (even though I had plenty) and the notification went away. I just checked my Gmail app, and I am syncing again. Hope this helps.

I'm also having this problem. My Gmail e-mail hasn't updated since the Gingerbread update. Also, I tried clearing the application data in the Android Settings, but now the App just says "Waiting for sync" and "Your email will appear shortly." I'm also having the low phone storage notification.

Very cool. This worked after 10+ other failed trials (short of scrubbing the whole phone!).
I even un-did my Google 2-step signon (which I will now reinstate)
Wonderfully simple (& infuriating!). Why doesn't the phone tell us this is a 'feature' and an intentional barrier to synch?
Thanks,
- G
