Google won't sync automatically on Droid X2

My big issue is my google calendar. I have the "All Calendars" and "Phone Calendar" boxes unchecked, and have the calendars I want displayed showing up. The visible calendars are also set to sync. The problem is that they only sync when I go into accounts and manually sync them. My other Google services have the same problem, but I don't use them on my phone as much.

I've searched the internet, and the solutions that everyone else reports to be successful for what seems to be the same calendar issue will not work for me.

What can I do?

TombsUWP, I'll be happy to help you figure this out so you'll have full use of your Calendar! Thanks for providing all of your software info. It would also be helpful to know which troubleshooting steps you've tried already to avoid repeating the same steps. Do you show any sync errors when going to Settings, Accounts & Sync on your phone? When you add new appointments are they being added to your Google calendar or a different calendar? Make sure background data turned on under Settings, Battery and Data Manager, Data Delivery. Also make sure Data Saver is turned off by going to Settings, Battery and Data Manager, Data Saver. Try booting your phone into safe mode and add a few calendar appointments. http://goo.gl/Tlvfh Give it some time to see if those appointments sync on their own.
