HELP! Droid X not charging

Okay. I know I can use the search, but I am so beyond frustrated I dont even want to bother.

My phone will not charge. It's not the outlet, the cords or the chargers because my husband has the same phone as me and all of the same cords, wall jacks, chargers all work just fine on his phone. Now I'm stuck at home with this effing Tropical Depression Lee pouring down rain and tornado warnings ever few hours. I have 2 small children, so God forbid if something happens my husband will not be able to get a hold of me because my is dead and won't charge. I am willing to go out and see if a Verizon store will replace my phone, but I'm not gonna go unless I know for sure. Please help me. I'd call customer service, but when I did they hung up on my with my last bit of battery life.

Sitting here getting rained on and watching winds from Lee myself, I certainly empathize with your situation. Keeping my X2, my girlfriend's X (with three grandkids), my daughter's X, and my mother's phone on another carrier, it's like a second job keeping all these phones going.

But I don't see what other choice you have besides going to the Verizon store to see what they can do for you. Either your battery has gone bad or the charger port has been damaged.

Does the phone work when connected to the charger?

Hi Annjolisa,

I completely understand the importance of staying connected especially during the wake of a natural disaster and I hope you and your family members are safe. I appreciate you completing some basic troubleshooting steps by trying to use your charger on your husbands phone.  Additionally, I would suggest checking to see if your phone will charge if his battery is in your phone.  Which will help identify if the battery or the actual device is the culprit.

Your device does have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty as long as there is no physical or water damage present. If your device classifies as a manufacturer's defect, you are covered for a Certified Like New Replacement(CLNR).  Here is some information detailing our CLNR program.  You can obtain a CLNR device by contacting Customer Service @800-922-0204 or visiting your local store, which can be found here.  I hope this information is helpful.  Please let me know if you require any additional assistance.
