HTC Clock/Weather App

Hi everyone...I have had my Droid for about 2 weeks now and everything was fine until this morning.  I got a message that said Sorry the process com.htc.bgp has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again and then I have to force close.  It only happened when I tried to update the weather.  I performed 2 hard resets and still had same problem...I called HTC and they said that it was my phone and that I needed a new one.  I went to the local store and told them about my problem and they tried to do a reset and it did not work for them so they gave me a new phone.  This phone worked great for about 1 hour and now it's doing the same thing.  Has anybody heard of this?? Am I doing something wrong?? I have read about syncing problems with facebook etc but I don't have that turned on...as soon as I try to sync the weather it happens.  I have also tried to hard reset this phone with no success. Any help would be great

Thanks

Dan

What apps have you loaded??? The fact it has happened on two phones makes me believe it is either an app conflict or a bad app.

I have loaded - advanced task killer, scanner radio, solitare, texas holdem. cribbage, weatherbug, radar now, jewels, gem miner, silent toggle, instant heart rate..I can't think of any others but if I missed any it's not that much more.  From what I can gather it only happens when I try to update the weather widget.  Also how come it will still do it even after a hard reset?? All the apps are gone at that point.  I am on 2.2 by the way and phone says software is up to date.  The only other thing that I have done was to change the sd card from 2gb to 4gb

Thanks

Dan

Just throwing  out opions and ideas here.

When you did the reset, did you have to reactivate the phone?

What happens if you allow the phone to update weather on it's own?

I know ya say it happens before ya even add apps, but the ATK could very well be causing it, if it is killing off the program OR a program it needs. ATK should not be used with 2.2

yes did have to reactivate phone

Taskiller was only installed on the 2nd phone not the 1st

I just got off the phone with HTC and they have put it in with there advance team and I should here something within 24-48 hours :smileysad:..It also seems to happen with the calender as well...very fustrating but does not effect anything else on the phone...the also do not want me to bring this phone back to Verizon just yet for some reason

At least you are getting some type of answer...that is good. I have never had the issue. I wonder if there is a small update out there for new phones that those of us with older phones do not have.
