I set my phone to automatic landscape orientation however it never switches to landscape when I try to use the keyboard to type an email message or enter a web url. Am I doing something wrong?
I did check to make sure that the accelerator worked. I downloaded Google sky and a labyrinth game and they both worked.

It's comes defaulted to auto switch. You sure you didn't disabled it? The stock internet app goes to landscape fine, so does the stock gmail application.

THe automatic orientantion check box is checked. Tried the stocks application and it doesn't change to landscape. Is anyone else having issues?
I would like to know which applications support landscape using the keyboard. Does the email application support landscape keyboard?
Thanks.

Hey, I am having the same exact problem.
Landscape viewing worked for a few days, but now it does not.
I tried the stocks app and it didn't work there either.
Would love to know which functions the landscape view is supposed to work with.
Anyone?

Hi all, Well same story, Though I have two incredibles and one does not do the auto switching any longer. My other works fine and going though the settings, they all match. Followed another thread regarding the Eris. The last method of removing the task killer also did not work for me. So lets hope we can find a solution, since this one is annoying. GL to us.

I think I may have fixed the problem.
I'll have to wait a few days to know for sure.
If you press home->menu->settings->sound and display->scroll down to G-Sensor calibration
Then lie your phone on a flat surface like a table, and then press calibrate.
Do NOT lie your phone on its edge.
I think that was the problem I was having.
It seems to have fixed the issue for me.
I already returned one phone because of this problem, and I just started to have it on the new phone.
Sure hope this fixes it, cause other than this I'm loving it.
Sucks that I forgot to take the minisd card that they gave me at Best Buy out of the old phone before I returned it.
Could they possibly find a more incovenient location for the card!

I had the same issue. When I calibrated my phone the first time, I was holding it vertically in my hand. It has to be lying flat when the calibration is done. This fixed the issue for me.

Um...omg. Doy! This has been driving me crazy. I too have been resting the device on its edge when running the calibration tool. Clearly, the instructions (both on-screen and in the guide) leave something to be desired. This also answers the question, "Do you have to run the calibration tool twice? Once on the short edge and once on the long edge?"
Hallelujah.
