HTC Incredible

After spending 2 weeks on my own and hours on the phone with Verizon the low storage problem is fixed with my phone but I still cannot receive any text messages!!!!  Verizon's solution to this problem is to buy a new phone and we will let you upgrade early because we know it's a software bug.   Just got off the phone with HTC, they know they have a huge problem and plan on having an update to fix software within the next 48 hours. Hoping it works!!!!!  Don't buy a new phone just yet!!!

You do realize you are on a Motorola Bionic area, you may want to post in the Incredible area for best responces..

I am having the same problem!! I just read on another thread here in this form how to fix the low disk space warning which worked great...BUT...I'm still unable to receive any text messages as well!! So frustrating! I saved all my settings, apps, photos to my computer and was getting ready to set my phone back to factory default to see if that will help. Before I did, I deciede to look up some of these posts and low and behold your problem is EXACTLY like mine! I think I'm still gonna try a factory reset in hopes that it will reset it back to 2.2. I'm hoping I won't get the OTA upgrade to Gingerbread until all the bugs are fixed. Thanks

Happy belated birthday! I hope your day was great !

 

I would like to assist you with regard to the receipt of text messages on your device. 

 

What you describe is not a known issue with the Incredible 2. Do you receive any of the text messages sent to you from another phone, or from an email address? I know your posting states "all messages," I would just like to clarify with you. 

 

I would also like to ask if  you are receiving some messages, but not all messages, since posting? If so, do you notice a pattern with this? What I mean is, do you notice you receive messages from other Verizon Wireless phones, but not from phones of another carrier?

 

Please provide answers to these questions, so we can make sure that you are again able to receive incoming messages.

Oh, and to make matters worse as far as NOT being able to receive text messages, today is my birthday! Yay, Happy Birthday to me...I get NO bithday wishes via text...and no way to let others no I'm not ignoring 'em, just not getting their messages. Guess there's always facebook.  😞

No messages on your birthday has to be a huge letdown!  I do have some good news: This has been lifted up to HTC to be fixed. In the meantime there are 2 ways to fix this:

 

1) Visit this forum and click on the .apk hyperlink in the 2nd post down. Before doing this, please go to settings> applications>

     and ensure the box is checked to allow apps to be installed from sources other than the Market.  This is not an official Verizon

     Wireless fix, but the community stated that it works great. 

 

2) Contact tech support at 866-892-7957 and reference InfoManager article number 47597.  You can also PM me with your

     phone number and a good time to call as well.  

 

In either option, you will get a fix. Let us know your results.
