I have an HTC Droid Incredible that I bough from a Verizon rep on Craigslist. I paid $450 for the phone. It's now a $450 paperweight. Previous to the Incredible I had an Eris. It had the silent bug and was replaced with 4 other Eris', all with the silent bug. I gave up on the Eris and purchased the Incredible so that I would have a phone that worked. It worked for 2 weeks, and now it's gone silent too. Verizon won't support the phone since I purchased it on Craigslist. HTC doesn't support the phone - they send customers to a third party company whose customer service technicians are rude and not helpful. They told me they know it's a software problem and they don't have a fix for it. When I asked them what they would do to get me a phone that works, they told me that if I sent it in they would fix it (in 2 weeks) and send it back to me. This, after they said there's NO FIX!
My question? Why is Verizon continuing to sell phones that don't work? This bug is widespread and prevalent. It's the same bug that hounded the Eris. When I speak with CSR's, they acknowledge that they don't have a fix for it, and yet they're still selling the phone.
Rant over, now selling phones and switching to Sprint.
