As the category of this board would suggest, I have an HTC Droid Incredible phone.
I am running Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 OS platform.
I have been running HTC Sync between phone and Outlook for 1.5 years.
As I use Outlook as my MASTER contacts list, and since I NEVER add or modify a contact on my phone, the contacts on the phone are expendible!
NOTE: I am ONLY syncing CONTACTS. (Calendar is already stored in Google Calendars, and that's still working perfectly.)
I have an older version of HTC Sync (2.0.25) on my computer, because I was advised some time ago by Verizon Wireless Support to use THAT version.
Only days ago Verizon upgraded my phone's OS to "Gingerbread" (Android Version 2.3.4, build 4.08.605.2).
NOW when I try to sync, I get these error messages on computer:
Result: Synchronization failed
Errors: 2 General
Error due to: Connection to mobile phone timed out
In the past, if I had trouble with HTC Sync, normally I would delete all contacts on phone and "repair" via HTC Sync, overwriting phone with Outlook. But I'm afraid that if I try that, and HTC Sync still does not work, I will have to start loading contacts on phone MANUALLY, and I have THOUSANDS of contacts I use/need.
Please advise.
