Hands Free

I love the fact that Motorola and Verizon added hands free calling to the Droid X but what is the purpose of having hands free calling when you can't use it unless your phone is unlocked.  I mean this defeats the purpose of having hands free calling like if I'm driving and I push the button on my earpiece to call someone only to realize that I need to reach down grab the phone and look at it while driving mind you to unlock the phone if I go this far I might as well just hit the quick contact I have saved.  That is so very frustraiting I'm just saying.

Couldn't you just go to the phone settings under Location and Security settings and turn off Screen Lock then set your display to never cut off?  Of course you would def. need to make sure your phone is charging with the car charger...Or are these settings not available in hands free mode?

I don't have any trouble using my bluetooth headset to initiate voice commands or to answer phone calls.

K well with the one person saying they did not have any trouble using his/her bluetooth for handsfree voice dialing I decided to do a little more research and realized that it does work if you do not use a security lock code to unlock your phone. but then that means your phone is open for anyone to look into so if you leave it laying around ur phone has no privacy.
