Has anyone heard of droid inserting 011 before numbers called from phone address book?

It doesn't happen when I choose Google Voice to complete a call, just when I choose Verizon.

Anyone have a fix?

(The only way around when using Verizon to complete a call, is to type in the number number.)

Is this a cunning ruse by VZ to get Google to pay for calls from VZ droids?

Yes, you've busted them. It's a plot for world domination. The eventual goal is to have a Droid X and a Fascinate strapped to each side of your head feeding sublimnal messages to direct you to send all yer money to Verizon as your Droid Incredible continuously re-boots frustrating you into not noticing the 2 other phones on your head. With their eventual goals in mind, why do you think they came up with the name "Droid"????

Whew. Okay, I'm through now. No, I've never see a Droid phone do that. Is it possible that you have a phone programmed for another country? Or perhaps a phone intended to travel internationally and that is a country code being displayed?

It might be that a country code is programmed in as a prefix code in the dialer. This can be removed, but since I've not done it, I can't list the process. The info is in the manual or just take it to the Verizon store and have them, err, de-program that code out of the phone.

And keep an eye on your bank statements (sorry, that one was for free... :smileyvery-happy: )

Ok, just a shot in the dark,

From the main screen, MENU>SETTINGS>CALL>NBPCD

Check to see that United States 310 is on listed

If not use the pull down menu to place it there.

If it is then go back one screen and choose ASSISTED DIALING. Make sure there is NOT a checkmark in the box.

Yes!!! It happened to me when I first got my phone. I had exported all my contacts from Outlook to a CSV file and then imported the CSV file on the Incredible. For phone numbers with "pauses" programmed into them, the Incredible did not recognize the "pause" symbol created by Outlook, and converted it to an exclamation point. The exclamation point triggered the Incredible to add a 011 prefix to the number, when dialing.

After two calls to China, I contacted Verizon and we did some experimenting. That's when I noticed the difference.

Once I went through the pain of converting all the exclamation points to the proper pause symbol, all my China calls went away.

It did it to me when I was out of my home area. It was caused by a Extention being added after the number I had it like

xxx-xxx-xxxx #xxx when I called from my home area code it would dial the number just fine but if I left my area code it would add 011 If this matches your case store the extention somewhere else and you should be good...

Yes. I had this problem on my LG. This is what I did and it worked:

1. From home screen go into Settings

2. Go into Call Settings

3. Go into Assisted Dialing

4. Click on Reference Country

5. Make sure United States is selected (obviously if you are in the US) and click on the plus sign icon to the right of USA

6. Remove 011 from IDD Prefix and scroll to bottom of screen and hit save

Then go into your contacts and trying calling one of the numbers you had a problem with.
