i bought 2 1500's on ebay with an external charger. i haven't noticed a longer life....and they were generics that were made for the eris. they work fine and were cheap ($12 for 2 batteries and the charger), but don't seem to last any longer. if you're lookin for the cheap route....do what i did. if you can spend $50 and don't mind a thicker battery, then order the 2300 from vzn. it comes with a back door to the phone because it's twice as thick as the 1300. not for my taste, but would last significantly longer. i'd spend $ on a 2300, if they could make it without being so thick. one of the things i loved most about this phone was it's size.

Just got mine from VZW and I'm charging it now. I'm excited. Maybe I can get through a work day now without having to charge as soon as I get home. I've been pretty disappointed in the battery life of the phone.
*edit* And maybe I can even turn on my wifi now. I'm all giddy with joy!

Yeh I really dont want to add the bigger battery. I was hoping one of the other 2 provided loger life. Is verizon or htc going to do any updates to help with battery life?

i really don't think they can. the battery is what it is. it's an extremely powerful phone and it's just not enough juice. i'd suggest getting what i got on ebay. for $12 it's well worth it. i have the battery in my phone, one in my car, and one at home. since the 2 spares came with the external charger, i never have to plug the phone in. the batteries are always charged and i just rotate them. it takes about 30 seconds to turn off the phone, replace the battery, and turn it back on. i was a bit concerned about taking the back off every day (cheap plastic) but i've been doing this for a month and it's held up great.

They can. They more than likely will. Every one of the updates for the Motorola Droid increased the effective battery life. There are several ways to do that by tweaking the way the operating system handles certain instructions and protocols. HTC doesn't seem to be as good about getting out those kinds of updates but it can be done no doubt.

ANY smartphone device with a similar size battery will have a low battery life. Iphone 4, incredible, droid X, and any other new phone. The only real way to get longer battery life is control the running app and tweak, or get a better battery. I got the 1750 for my droid eris and I get 12 hours of well I do alot in twelve hours and I work in a hospital with not that good of reception inside so it is taxing on my battery for sure.
As thin as these phones are, event he thicker battery would be an excellent option to do I would think up to two days of heavy use, or three to three and a half days of light use. Adding on to the size is of course your choice, but for a long lasting battery I woudl do it. Downfall to a larger battery is you need longer charge time. Buying two of whatever choice is a really good reconmendation. I am looking to purchase another 1750 and a dock charger for my phone. To get the best use and have around 20% left at the end of the day I have to charge my battery for a solid 8 hrs. It will get full in like 4 but it does seem to drain quicker throughout the day. You can get a better charge when the battery is not in use which is perfect for the external charger.
Hope this helps.
HTC may not tweak their phones btu I found when I use the open UI from android my battery dropped faster throughout the day compared to the sense UI, so food for thought.
Anyone else try dsiabling the sense UI and just use Open for a few days and see how it was? Not trying to change the topic but curious if the battery seemed better for others compared to my experience. Doesn't matter it isn't an eris.
Check my signature to view what Apps I have on my phone and I Do use task killer with autokill on. My phone has run perfect and much more responsive on my older hardware. I so love my phone.

you cannot make a more powerful battery without adding more cells, you cannot add more cells without adding size, that's the way car, laptop, and cell phone bateries work, along with any other.

Hi I just want to update everyone. I did get the 1750 battery and there is a big difference. With the old battery I was getting maybe a half a day now I can get a day to a day in a half with the new battery. The best part is I didnt have to get another back piece. This battery is regular size. I just love this phone and can honestly give it 5 stars now because of the new battery.

1500 is a joke.
1750 was the best option and it was decent...at one time... But your heavy user STILL had to use 1750x2 or the 1750 in junction with the factory battery or with their 1500. I would say, indeed there was a noticeable different, but nothing too much. It's a smart phone, can't expect much from these batteries at this time. If you're not using the features, what was the point of even getting it, you know?
There is another Verizon released battery 2150 (Btw.. I only go after Verizon batteries, generally unless the batteries are recommended THAT much) is a much bigger difference to that of a 1750. Sure.. there is minimal size being added (I think like a whole .35 In.?) but DEF. worth it.
Now, let's hope the batteries retain their optimal use for a long time and better comes out after time..

I did buy the 1750 from Amazon and returned it. I was not impressed with it at all. I purchased the 2150 from VZN and must say I am pleased. Sure the back is a bit thicker, but this battery goes all day and then some. No more remembering to take the charger. The camera lense no longer sticks out which is a plus for me. I was always worried about getting it scratched. The back cover that comes with the battery is a tight fit. The phone feels sturdier in my hands. Occasionally when I need to " hold the phone to my ear with my shoulder" the phone no longer slides. The only downside, can't find a case yet, but hopefully cases will pop up as the demand for them increase. All in all I am satisfied with the battery, because now I can use my phone without worrying about it going dead before I make it home.!!

I saved a 1650 maH aftermarket battery from my HTC Ozone and have been using it in my Dinc with excellent results. Depending on phone usage, I can go from 1-2 days before recharging. Plus, I still have my original 1300 maH battery as backup.
