1. Have you installed any apps recently since you notice this issue?
2. Have you activated the Double Tap to Silence option under Settings/Sound and Display Settings? Ive heard this feature causes a number of diffrent issues, this is the only menu I can think of that deals with double tapping.
3. Also try calibrating the Compass under Settings/Location and Security/Calibrate Compass, I noticed that at times the phone seem to confused Landscape and Portriat screen positions, I dont know what it really does but someone informed me to calibrate this and it fixed my screen input issue.

Thank you very much i will try what you said, but i did download the app needed for voice to text...i was looking at the voice to text settings and it said "Install voice data" and then it prompted me to download an app from the marketplace and i did...as soon as i did i started having the problem...but it wasnt a third party app i mean it prompted me to download it right from the phone and i dont remember the apps name and when i go to marketplace and check downloads its not there so i think the apps causing the problem...but dont know where to uninstall!

Strange, I am not sure what app that could have been, all voice apps I know of doesnt require any addition add ons but if that is the case you might want to concider a hard reset of the device.

sounds like the culprit....to uninstall go to settings> applications>manage applications>scroll around and find that app. then touch it and choose uninstall on the next menu.
If you find that was not the culprit...keep it uninstalled until you do find the issue and resolve it. Just in case.
good luck
Dj.
OH...and always do as Wildman says when a problem comes up. Check what you installed/downloaded recently. I think he's always right to suggest that when people have an issue.

Hmm turned out it was semi related to the app i was wanting to see all the cool features of the droid x so i decided to start from the bottom of the settings and work up and when i got to accessibility i clicked screen reader to see what it does and a little warning came up and so i just clicked cancel it said something about how it will collect everything i type and stuff so i just clicked cancel and thats when the problem came about so just not i repeatedly kept turning off and on this feature and after twice everythings working now...REALLY weird and i dont know why that caused the problem but i thought i was the app because right before the accessibility setting i went to text to speech and downloaded that app making me think it was that but it was actually the screen reader option....i have no idea why that would interfere with screen responsiveness though....

Good find, shows that you never stop learning the level of features on the X, would have never thought thats what that did.
Glad you was able to figured it out.
