Help; Droid2 is stuck on red light screen & won't turn off

Left Droid charging last night & when I looked this AM, the red light part of the boot up is going round & round, but does not complete boot up.  It won't turn off either.  Anyone have advice?  I have no phone now, so have to get help online.

Pull the battery.
Try boot up again.
If that doesn't work, pull the battery, plug into charger and post back.
