I just got my Droid 12/26 and think I am fairly intelligent but boy oh boy...sure do wish this phone had an instruction booklet with it. Why is that anyway??? The tutorial on line they have pretty much is useless and I am signed up for "smart class" on 1/12 but until then I need some help here people. I have absolutely no clue how to send a text on this phone.....I'll be darned if I can figure it out. As it was I came on this blog to figure out how to download my ringtones....I couldn't find a blog on here to answer the simple question of how to send a text.....thanks....... They really should consider doing a manual.

This is going to come off extremely sarcastic to you. And I hope that I'm legitly helping your issue.
On your homescree, you can either press the "Messaging," or through the application tray press "Messaging"
When you get to the screen follow these steps:
- Click "New Message"
- On your first text entry at the top, you should be able to type in by either tapping in that text field and type via onscreen keyboard, or sliding your phone open from the left to right. Type either in the name of the receipient (assuming you have your contacts in your phone) or type the phone number in.
- After step two has been done, on the bottom text entry type in your message.
- To your right, press "send".
And there you go, you just sent a message.
