Help! moto x texts delayed.

Ok yesterday I woke around 8 a.m. Turned my moto x on. Ok time was going by and I hadn't gotten any calls or texts which was weird. But I was like OK then never mind. So around 10:35 p.m. I text my cousin to see what up, a minutes after  I sent him his texts I got around 15 texts from different contacts. But they all had the same exact time it said I received them at 10:36 p.m.. So today morning I wake up again to no texts, then I text again and the same thing happens. I get texts at the same time once again, so I called one of my contacts and to ask what time they had sent the text. They told me that they sent many around the whole time of the day, and that they even called me but that my phone was off, which in fact was not off the phone was on!!. So OK what can I do about this? Has this happened to anyone before? It is really annoying! Help!

Almost sounds to me like over-aggressive use of a task killer (making an assumption here based on verizon's constant suggestions for using these things). What I think is happening is that you have a task killer set to auto kill and it is shutting off your messaging app, therefore it is not checking for new messages, then, when you use it to send one out, they all come rushing in. If this is the case, try turning off the auto kill feature and see if that helps.

turn off the auto kill on just on the texts? or everything in general?. I just called a few people and they told me they called me, and that it also sent them right to the voice mail.

Personally, I don't even use a task killer as problems like this tend to pop up, but definitely add the messaging app to the no kill list.

I checked and auto kill is disabled, could it be that i use it constantly like every hour? haha.

So if you dont use task killer? what do you use?

I don't use anything, android handles task management rather well on it's own. Back in the day, when I did have one, I would get strange force closes and things not working properly so I uninstalled it and let the phone do its thing.

You should be fine, but try it out for yourself. If you want to try out the auto kill feature, just be sure to exclude anything that you are not sure is safe to kill.
