Help with DROID X update...

Serial1
Newbie

Hello, last night I had an update for the software,so I proceeded with it. When it finished, screen said update complete, rebooting. It shut off,but when it restarted, it went to a screen that looks like this:

Bootloader

30.03

Err:A5,70,70,00,1F

MEM_MAP Blank

Service Req'd

Battery OK

OK to Program

Connect USB

Data Cable

I tried pulling battery numerous times, and it goes right back to that screen. No motorola logo,no droid eye - nothing,it just goes right to this screen. Anyone know what this is,and what I can do to get this fixed? I really need my phone working,as I use it and need it for work! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's pretty strange ... no known updates going out .  Have you tried putting it into SAFE mode?  Power the phone down, push and hold the Menu key, push and hold the power key until you the the "M", continue to hold the Menu key until the phone boots.  You should see Safe Mode in the bottom left corner of the screen.   To get out of SAFE mode, you just power it Off/On again normally.

This test might reveal whether something is corrupted or not ...  good luck.

That's the same error given when you try to flash from 2.2 ota back to 2.1 or other version.

I don't think a data wipe will help you in this case as the updated bootloader is reading an install with a key that doesn't match.  IE: Bricked!

There is a way to potentially fix it but it cannot be discussed on these forums.  Google is your friend.  You have a lot of reading ahead of you, and if you don't understand it 100% get someone else who does to do it for you.
