I have been having an issue with my Charge, the microphone specifically. When in speakerphone mode the other people can hear me fine, but in regular use they claim it sounds like I am talking thru a sock. Is there a setting that I haven't found to increase the gain on the microphone?

Dear Zenlatin,
I don't know whether this will solve your problem, but the first thing I would do is check your settings. Press the Menu button (bottom left physical button) and select Settings > Call settings. Confirm the setting for Voice privacy and Noise reduction. I don't use Voice privacy, but I wonder if this might be creating that effect. Also, try calls with these settings on and off and see if there is any effect.

Thanks for the suggestion WCMack, but that did not help. Well, much anyways. I am beginning to suspect that it was an app that I downloaded. Uninstalling recent ones did nothing so a posible rebuild might be in order.

Thanks for coming here to post your concern in relation to the microphone.
Are you using a bluetooth headset at all? Does the sound quality appear to change if the volume is adjusted?
Does it happen on all calls?
Per Samsung, call quality issues are under investigation by product management group. Expecting a software release to address these issue in the near future.
I don't have any information as to when the software will be released, however you can sign up for email alerts here
