I was told by a manager at a VZW store that I would be able to purchase one Droid X at retail price ($199.99) and receive a second Droid X for only half price. However, when I called VZW themselves, I was told that no such offers exist. Do you think I should go ahead with an offer like this or just skip it? Plus, do you think these phones will be new or refurbished?

 

I don't know but something just seems fishy to me.

Droid X are on backorder for some while and Verizon is working to catch up on orders so I do not believe that they would start a plan like that because they do not have devices on hand now...  Besides if the store  tells you that they are not doing any deal like that how do you plan to go ahead anyway with getting that desl?  That sounds like some **bleep** to me.

I think someone was "Pullin' your leg" so to speak.

The Buy one, get one free, or Buy one, get one at half price, are marketing tools used to boost sales.  When you have a phone that sells so well that you can't keep them in stock, there is no reason have "specials" meant to improve sales.

That's what I was thinking as well, hence the reason I posted it here to see what you guys thought of it. It just seemed so weird that such a popular phone would have such a deal so fast. Plus, I sure as hell don't want any refurbished ones; may make me go a little insane.

actually last week i seen a commercial

saying buy one droid get one half off or free

i can't remember which it said

but it was one or the other

I noticed I made a few typos but it also didnt help when the system remove or edit words for whatever reason? :smileymad:

My daughters boyfriends family got that deal at the store and it was for the original droid they bought two got two free by debate.Tried to get them to at least get the droid 2
