Hot battery and network error

I have noticed as the battery charges it gets very hot. None of my other phones have ever gotten that warm when they charged. Are the Droid X's suppose to get warm?

When I try to go onto the application market... It comes up and tells me network error retry or cancel. I have never had a phone that had all the bells and whistles that this one does so I am very "lost" when any issues occur. Thank you all for helping with all the post that I have done. God Bless..

For the battery yes it is normal. My phone gets really warm when I am talking on it for a long time. It also tends to get warm when I am charging it too when the phone is on. When the phone is off being charged, the phone will remain cool as a cucumber.

For the network thing try turning off the phone.Take battery out. See then if the issue goes away. Also try to clear the cache/data from the market.
