How do I add a new widget to the Desk Home Dock?

Hello,
I gave up on the built-in Accuweather widget as it was always 1-2 days behind in weather syncing.
I am trying the Fancy Widget weather widget, which seems to sync up very well.
I would like to add this widget to my Desk Home Dock, but when I select "Dock Widgets", the Fancy Widget is not shown as a selectable item.
How do I add widgets that are not from the "built-in" list?
Thanks.

If you downloaded the APP and it truly is a "widget", it should have been added to the list of widgets - and you would just long-press on a screen and select that widget. If it is NOT a true widget, you just go to your APPS (the center icon) and press and hold the APP - it will be added to whichever screen is on focus.

Cody,
Thanks for the response.
I can select it as a widget on a screen, so it is a true widget.
On the Desk Home Dock, there is a dark band at the bottom of the three screens. That is where the old, built-in weather widget was.
When I press and hold there, I am given a option to "Dock Widgets". I have a choice of only seven widgets there, including: Airplane mode toggle, Bluetooth toggle, GPS toggle, Music, Weather (the old one), Wifi toggle and You Tube.
My Fancy Widget is not an option there, nor are any other added widgets.
That is the place where I would like to add the new weather widget.
Thanks.

Are you using the stock launcher? or did you install a new Launcher? (I use Launcher Pro). I doubt that you can insert a widget that is larger in size in a small "banded" area ... but I don't know.. As a TEST, try to insert the Widget in the center of your screen - not the small area at the bottom of your screen ... just to see if it works ... you can drag & delete it after the test .. but that should give you an idea where it can be inserted.

Unfortunately, when the dock is "up", I am limited to adding widgets to the "band", and to the list of widgets I described earlier. I have the widget on a screen already (not visible when dock is up), but no way to "copy" or "drag" it to the dock.
Somehow the motorola dock program has to be modified, or, they only allow "their" built-in widgets to be used...
Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. I want to use weatherbug elite and have a widget when not docked but no way to add to the band at the bottom when docked. Accuweather sucks.

Moto Dock only shows the smaller widgets because it only have a limited space, Fancy widgets do not have a 1x1 size widget and this is why it will not show in the list. Try Car Dock Home v3 at http://www.appbrain.com/app/car-dock-home-v3/net.cwfk.ig88.carhome3
