How does one add a recipient when replying to a message?

I have the Motorola Droid X2 and am trying to reply to a text I received, but want to add a recipient so that my text goes to others, not just the person who sent it. Does anyone know how to do that without forwarding the text?

Schedules been a little heavy..   Also I missed that they was speaking of text messages....

This should work for this situation also....

Open text message thread view under messaging and then click the bubble where the text message is and a pop up window will give you options and forward is one of them, click forward and input name to send to.

Are you using the stock APP ??  Maybe look at a 3rd party app like "HandCent SMS".  It's free and has lots of options.

I just tried HandCent SMS and GO SMS Pro and neither of those apps has a way to add a recipient either.

Wildman provided the solution to add a recipient to a TEXT msg ...   you just Long Press on the Text msg itself. Take another look at his animated images up above.  I tested this on my stock App and it indeed does work.   Try that.

On stock email app once you open messages and select reply and then select menu and select CC and add the contacts names you want to add,,,

gMail open messages and select reply and then select menu and select Add CC and add the contacts names you want to add,,,

Thanks for all the replies. i was hoping I didn't need to forward or get a 3rd party app, but it seems there is no way around it.
