How to:   transfer free downloaded songs from Droid X  *to*  mp3 player ???

1st ever mp3 player. No mp3 player software on SONY player.

Also:  if there's a gadget I must buy, please tell exactly what it is + where to pick it up.

FYI ... downloaded mp3's I'm referring to from Android Market app.  Great library + I MUST get them from phone-to-mp3 player ASAP !!!

Thanks, and gratefully awaiting your reply!

If you download them to your device the player should automatically scan sd card and list all music files in the player without any other apps.

Yea, I'm confused by what you're asking.  Are you saying you want to Xfer MP3's that are on your DROID X to another device to play them?  or simply trying to play them on your phone?

scarlettbama,

Hi there!

Thanks to the community for the outreach and support!

I believe you are trying to move music from your phone to your newly purchase MP3 Player, correct?  While you cannot directly tether your phone to an MP3 player to transfer songs, you can plug your phone into your computer and move the files there. Then, from the computer move to the MP3 player. All phones operate this way. Sounds like a lot of steps, but I assure you its easy once you've got the hang of it.

First, use the USB cable to plug your Droid X to your computers USB port. Now that it's plugged in, drag down the notification bar from the top of the screen and tap "USB Connection". Choose 'USB Mass Storage", tap 'OK'. Once you've done that, your computer will begin to respond and download drivers, etc (this is typically a one-time process). Please wait to do anything until you get a message on the computer that drivers were downloaded successfully.

The rest of the time, you'll focus on the computer. Depending on your PC system, you will go to the Start menu and click 'Computer' or 'My Computer'. Once that window opens you'll see something like 'Removable Disk/Drive' or a Motorola drive. You'll see all the files in your SD card from the new window that opens. Find the file where your music is located, which the file is usually named for the app you downloaded it from (ie: Amazon MP3). Once you've located your music files you can drag and drop them using the mouse into a file into your computer. I recommend 'My Documents' or ' My Music', both should be pre-loaded folders on your computer.

Now that the music is on the computer, you can transfer it into your MP3 player per Sony's user manual.
