I went to settings about phone check for updates and theres a progress bar and it says 2.1 update but its been downloading for and hour the bar doesnt show any improvement can someone help?
A network error could have hung up the download. You may need to power down. You might have to pull the battery if the power button won't do it. I think (not 100% sure) that once your phone has received the update notification, going to Menu->Settings->About phone->System updates once you power up should initiate another download.
i just finished talking to tech support and they told me that the update has been sent to every body and since everyone is doing the self check for the update like i did the server is going down since its to many people triyng to download it thats why its taking for ever
where can i find the list of all that the update is bringing

Tech support lied to you. The update has NOT been sent to EVERYONE.... I do not have it yet
I don't know who you talked to in Tech. Support but I do not yet have the 2.1 update either.

My phone says I have it, but my screens all look the same and I still have just 3 home screens. Strange.

2.1 doesn't bring 5 screens to the Droid. There are major changes to the gallery, music player, and browser. Also pinch to zoom and animated/live backgrounds.
