I have gone through the settings with a fine tooth comb and even had our IT department look at it without any luck. He said he set up another Droid 2 and it worked fine. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem if so how they got it to work. All my other e-mail accounts work fine sending and receiving but they were Automatically set up.

I guess we need to start with the basics. What type of account is it? Corporate, IMAP, POP3?
Have you tried any of the 3rd party tools if it is corporate?

I have the same problem with my Droid 2. I can receive emails from my work account but cannot reply/send. Our IT guy went through all the setting and said it was a Verizon thing and that I should go to a store and have them input stmp.verizon.mail or something like that. I have not had the chance to do so yet, I work for a small family owned business with a server that's rather protective. Any advice would be awesome.

Check your outgoing settings. Go to Account; email account; edit settings make sure outgoing settings are correct on device. Also if it is a corporate work email you will need a 44.99 email/web feature to view and send emails from a corporate account.

No you don't need a $45 account to make corp email work on the droid. That only applies to blackberries. For android phones the unlimited internet includes corp email. I've talked with tons of people who have it working with the $30 account.
Now it's a matter of getting it set up.
To help we are going to need some more details.

Hi my name is Leslie I noticed on a Droid forum a customer recommended try downloading K-9 from the Android Market (make sure you get the final and not the beta). Have you checked under settings in "Accounts & sync settings" make sure on auto-sync, this makes it so I never have to go into Gmail and have them forwarded to your phone. Also make sure you have background data checked. It should list you two accounts and have a green sync symbol similar to a recycle symbol on the right and says Sync is on.
