I can no longer Dial my speed dial numbers by bluetooth after GB update....HELP

Newbie

I can even deal with the fact that it erased my original speed dial settings. What I cannot deal with is the fact that BY LAW i must use a hands free device wihle driving but since the GB  update I can no longer Dial my 9 speed dial numbers by Bluetooth. Trying to push the number and hold it for a few secs not only breaks the law and jepordizes my kids in the car . Here how it works ( or supposed to work. I push the button on my head set. It says " Say A Command ". I say Call speed dial 3. It repeats it back to me. I say Yes. It NOW dials the last number dialed. I never had this problem before the update.

Motorola Droid X now with Gingerbread updated OTA

Bluetooth is a Blueant Q1 with the App running on the Droid and updated to its latest firmware of 8.21

Food for thought:  There is actually information released by the NTSB that even using "hands free" devices while driving have been proven to  distract drivers.

As for the Bluetooth commands: I've never used "speed dial" I usually say "Call Nicole Mobile" and it will connect still with no problems.

I just tried to use the voice command "call speed dial 1" and it did not recognize it.  It appears you must use the name now.

So does changing the radio station, getting to a different track on your CD player, or eating a hamburger, but of course NONE of us have ever done any of those things have we?

My advice is don't do anything that you think is dangerous.   That being said, I'd like to remind everyone that over 50,000 people die every year in car accidents..... but how many of us are going to stop driving?

Obviously I'm having a little fun with this.... I just love it when a topic like this comes up at a cocktail party.  I can almost guarrantee that some legislator somewhere has thought about trying to come up with a law to ban stupidity.
