I can't connect to my smartmail e-mail account - any advice?

I'm able to set up the account (in 'my accounts') - and it shows "successful" (for the set-up) - but then it won't 'connect' to the smartmail account?  It just keeps searching (and searching) - and then gives me an 'error' message?  Any advice?

I regret to hear that you are having issues setting up your Smartmail account. I have listed some information below:

  •  
    1. Confirm your email settings are correct with Smartmail.
    2. Try removing the account and setting it back up. To remove the account I have provided the steps below.

 

  •   
      1. From the home screen, touch the applications tab
      2. Touch My Accounts
      3. Touch and hold the POP/IMAP account
      4. Touch remove account
      5. Touch Yes

 

If it is a corporate exchange account you can remove it by doing the following.

    1. From the home screen, touch the applications tab
    2. Touch My Accounts
    3. Touch and hold the Corporate Sync account (Exchange Activesync)
    4. Touch remove account
    5. Touch Yes
