I got my first Droid X on launch day after my 4 month old droid Eris stopped working. It worked for 12 hours before the bottom half of the screen went black. It took Verizon a week to replace it,
The second Droid X worked except for the wifi issues that everyone is complaining about. I called Cusomer service and they said HMMM... We have never heard of that problem. I said Really?, Why don't you check your own website under the forums and read all about it. I told My Verizon Customer Service Rep that I want the replacement phone checked to make sure the screen and WIFI were fully functional. He assurred me that would be done.
My Third Droid X Phone arrived the day before yesterday and guess what? it too has the WIFI issue. I called customer service back and spoke to a supervisor. (he has also never heard of the wifi issue). He assured me he would get to the bottom of this and call me back this Monday. I am not holding my breath. Verizon customer service is horrible!
Amazing! We are a Verizon Business account with at least 25 phones on our account. I tell this story to all my customers, they laugh when I tell them that I have spent half my life in a verizon store complaining about their phones and the other half talking to customer service reps about it.
Does anybody know the number to the Director of Customer Relations?

Is this your business phone or personal phone? If it's a personal phone and you are so unhappy with Verizon and the phone issue, why not take your business to another carrier? Not trying to sound catty, just asking a question. If it's your business phone, and you cannot change carriers then ok. But if it's your personal phone, then why not find a carrier and phone that meets your needs?

Amazing.. You admit you read up on the Wifi Issue, which is a software issue that hasn't had a patch yet, but you demand a replacement phone. In the words of Bill Engvall: Here's your sign.

If It's a software issue why don't all the Droid X's have the same problem? If you talk to a verizon rep they never even heard of the problem. I called Motorola and spoke with a level 3 technician. I asked him how many levels are there? he said "there are three levels, if I can't fix it, it can't be fixed". He was the one that finally concluded the phone was defective and gave me a case number. Verizon called Motorola and they decided to replace the phone.

I had to send my first Droid X back too because the 3 G feature didn't function at all. So far the 2nd one has lasted more than a week... but it gulps the juice out of the battery like a dehydrated desert dweller in 120 degree heat at high noon.
