My Motorola droid has recently started acting up. When I go to text someone the letters wont type, and the keypad will just disappear!!!!! What do I do!!!!? Do I just need to go back to the Verizon store? Get rid of it?

Thank you!!

What have you tried in order to fix this? Restart? Battery pull? Hard reset (sync your data first)? Have you recently installed any apps?

Oh no, don't throw it! If this is only happening in text messaging, and not on your browser or other text applications, I would suggest clearing your cache from your messaging app. It won't delete any text messages, but it may reset some of your SMS settings. You can go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Messaging>Clear Data/Cache.

DON'T do a hard reset without trying other troubleshooting first. It's a major pain to lose all your stuff and add it back, when most likely you don't have to.

This sounds like an app issue, and I would suggest clearing the cache on your keyboard, texting, and email apps as the VZW rep stated above. Whatever you use your keyboard for should be cleared.

Also, try removing any apps that were added right before you started noticing these problems. I'd be willing to bet money that it's an app doing this.

sounds like one of ur texting app skins or add ons has a bug in it.... try uninstalling the fancy keyboard and use the one that came on the phone originally
