I still don't have Froyo on my Incredible!

I have yet to receive an OTA update to Froyo on my Incredible. My husband's phone updated the first weekend it was out. I tried to do a manual update, but I was missing an update that was released in May to 2.1. It seems that my phone just isn't receiving the OTA updates. 

 

 

This is what I am currently running:

Android 2.1-update1

 

Baseband version

1.00.03.04.06

 

Kernel Version

2.6.209-cc1c2268

htc-kernel@and18-2#1

 

Build number

1.22.605.0 CL161493 release-keys

 

Software Number 

1.22.605.0

 

I have called tech support several times, and gone into my local Verizon store 3 times. The only answer I get is to wait., and maybe Gingerbread will install when it comes out. One suggestion was to do a factory reset to my phone and see if that worked. I haven't tried it yet, just because I hate the idea of install all of my apps again. :smileytongue:

 

Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Verizon is sending out a refurbished phone for me today. Finally. I guess they finally believed that my phone wasn't updating correctly. Hopefully the new phone works correctly. (Now I will have to reinstall all my apps again) UGH!

 

I was a little worried when the first customer service rep I spoke with said that Froyo wasn't available for the Incredible. But she did check and handed me off to a tech that could help.

 

I love my phone, We have a relationship. I'm almost sad to return it. :smileysad:

What I have tried to correct the problem:

  Factory reset twice, once in 3G with full bars, and once on wi-fi

  Manual update, didn't work because it is missing an update from May

  Reset date, then #*#*CHECKIN*#*#

  Factory reset, reset date, #*#*checkin*#*#

  *228 weekly

 

I love this phone, but I would like it to have current software. There are apps that only work with Froyo. I pay VZW $300 a month for wireless and internet service, I've been a customer for over 10 years.Is it too much to ask to have a phone that works?

Sure ya don't have a Samsung Fascinate? Just joking! I wish I had an answer for ya. Let search on the internal settings to see.if something there will trigger it.

You might also want to dig through the articles on either www.androidcentral.com or www.droid-life.com for when they reported the update was available. There was sometimes posted a way to manually install the update (legally).
