I have a Go Daddy domain and use Outlook 2003. I am trying to set up an IMAP email account on my new Incredible. When I get to the Outgoing server settings screen I use my Go Daddy email address as the user name and my correct password. The Login required box is checked by default. If I leave it checked and press NEXT, the verifying account information screen comes up and I get a message "Authentication failed. Please verify username and password." They are correct unless I do not understand what they want for user name. However, if I uncheck the Login required button the account information is completed and the account is apparently setup. However I cannot send emails (although I do receive them). In the setup I am using for the Outgoing Server "smtpout.secureserver.net" as instructed by Go Daddy. I will appreciate any guidance anyone can provide. Thanks!

If the settings on the phone are correct check to make sure you have smtp relays added to your godaddy address under your advanced tab.
Here are step-by-step directions for setting your relays for your GoDaddy e-mail account:
1. Go to http://www.godaddy.com
2. At the top of the home page, enter your GoDaddy account name and password, and then click the arrow at the right of the password to login.
3. On the next page, you will see 7 tabs starting with "Products" and ending with "My Account".
4. Click the "My Account" tab.
5. On the next page, you will see a black bar under the tabs with links starting with "Account Settings" and ending with "My Upgrades".
6. Click on the "My Products" link in that black bar.
7. On the next page, you will see a section header labeled "Domains."
8. Under that section, click on the domain name for which you are setting up the e-mail on your Droid. This will launch your product Dashboard.
9. On the Dashboard page, you will see a section titled "Email."
10. In the Email section, click on the button that is labeled "Manage."
11. On the next page, you will see a line that lists the login/account name as a link in the Address column.
12. Click on the Address for which you are setting up the e-mail on your Droid.
13. The next page, titled "Edit Mailbox," will have four tabs, one of which is labeled "Advanced."
14. Click the Advanced tab.
15. On the Advanced page, you will see a drop-down labeled "SMTP Relays per day:"
16. Click on the drop-down and select "250."
17. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the page.
Now, go back to your Droid and try sending a new message. If your smtpout settings are correct, the message will be sent immediately.

I know a work around that worked for other customers with user name/password error messages on other email providers by mirroring the outgoing server with the incoming server settings. Also ensure Authentication is checked but SSL is not. Here are the steps to edit your email settings:
1. From your home screen or applications menu, select Mail.
2. Select Menu.
3. Select More.
4. Select Accounts list.
5. Select the email account.
6. Select Menu.
7. Select More.
8. Select Settings.
9. Select Account Settings.
10. Verify the email address then select Next. Verify the Incoming server settings then select Next.
Update the Outgoing server settings to match the incoming mail server. If you are still having issues, please send me a private message with your wireless number and the best time to reach you.
