I upgraded my phone two days ago and now, my email with my ISP doesn't "fetch" unless I tap on it and bring it up.
I have it set to have notifications show up in the status bar, Email Delivery is set to "Data Push" and the "Fetch Schedule" is set for every 15 minutes. It is set as my default email account and my battery is in "Performance Mode".
What else am I missing?

Did you try just deleting and re-adding the CHART acct? Sorry, out of ideas after that.

Which email APP are you using? There were a bunch of reports from others of having the same issue after GB. These were some of the things done that helped fix this for many people. Just try one at a time in this order :
- Go into SETTINGS / APPLCATIONS and scroll to the email APP .. press CLEAR CACHE (you *may* have to re-enter your login info after.)
- Uninstall the email APP (if using a 3rd party APP), Reboot, download & reinstall APP. If you're using the stock email APP, you won't be able to Uninstall it.
- Perform a "WIPE SYSTEM CACHE" using these procedures:
- Power off
- Power On Holding Home Key
- When Andy with Exlamation Point Shows up Press BOTH Volume keys
- Use Volume Keys to navigate to "wipe cache partition" and tap power button to select
- Wait for it to finish and select reboot system
And if all this doesn't work a Factory Reset ... but let's not go there yet.

**Which email APP are you using?**
Showing my ignorance here as I've only had the phone 2 months. I'm using the "Messaging" app that was already in the phone when I got it.
The cache was empty and there isn't an "Uninstall" tab.
So, I guess I should just go for the "Wipe System Cache"?
Thanks for your help.

Ah, I see ... so when you go into MESSAGING, what are you clicking on to check email? YAHOO? Universal? And I assume you checked your SETTINGS for Notifications in Messaging, right? Just to confirm it is still set to Notify you.
You cannot uninstall Messaging. So next, I'd proceed with the WIPE CACHE procedure and see if that helps.

When I click on "Messaging" it brings up another page that has the "Text Messaging" envelope and the "Email" icon (@ sign in a stamp).
Yes, it is set to notify me in the Status Bar, but that doesn't happen as it doesn't "fetch" on it's own. When I tap on the "Email" icon, it will "fetch" then, but not every 15 minutes like it's set to do.
All righty! I'll try the "Wipe Cache".
You are a tremendous help, thanks.

It's not powering on by holding the home key.
ETA: It's in the process.
ETA: Wipe Cache has been performed. Gonna send a test email to see if it worked.

Well, "Wipe Cache" did not do the trick.
Ug, I hate the idea of having to do a factory reset.

Yea, I hear ya ... sorry the simpler efforts didn't work for you.. Have you considered using a 3rd Party email APP? BTW, what email do you use? Corporate? YAHOO? GMAIL ? A lot of people have great success with K9 mail .. Personally, I use YAHOO EMAIL's APP, not the MESSAGE APP you're using.

Thank you for your help. It's greatly appreciated.
I do have a Gmail account in there, but I don't use it. Had to "Add" it so I could get to use a couple of apps and even visit the Market.
I'm using my Charter email. It worked fine....until the upgrade. But that's ok as that's really my only beef.
I think I'll go check out some of the email apps and give that a try.
