In call screen lock

It seems when I first got the incredible the screen would "lock" to where my ear wouldn't press any of the buttons, and when I took the phone away from my hear (to a flat position), the keypad would light up. Now my ear is pressing buttons and sometimes making another call while I am on the phone with someone else. Am I imagining things??...or have I messed with the settings somewhere??

thanks,

The phone has a proximity sensor. The sensor detects when your face is near the phone, and approriately turns the screen off so that buttons can't be pressed. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the sensor. It's at the top of the phone by the Verizon logo. Make sure nothing is blocking the senor.

also make sure your hair isn't messing with it. pull it behind your ear or make sure it hangs on the outside of the phone. it can mess with the sensor.
