Inactivate HTV messaging

I am using Handcent for messaging now. How do I stop duplicates on the HTC messaging program?

Try going into manage apps and select the messaging app. Tap "clear defaults". The next time when a message comes in you should be prompted of where you want to open the text/message either in handcent or messaging. Just tab "use by default" and tap handcent.
