What is going on with the Incredible?
I was ready to replace my Droid with the Incredible.
I love my Droid but for me the physical keyboard is unusable and adds unnecessary weight. I have large fingers - a size 12 ring. My forefinger easily covers 4 keys. The designer of the keyboard must have had small pointed fingers!
OK then, get a Droid without the physical keyboard - the Incredible.
I spent the weekend on so many different forums I have lost track. The posts being at both extremes - Best ever vs. Worst ever!
I live in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and thanks to the government probably one of the best covered areas in the country. With my Droid I get fantastic reception. I travel to western NC several times a year and sometimes go via what has become the Incredible Reboot Capital of the country! I get great reception with the Droid throughout western VA and western NC. Not only the reboot problem but others complaining about weak signals (many think the bars are incorrect) and choppy and lost calls - not sure where they are located. Others complaining about various functionality issues - many saying the Droid has superior functionality than the Incredible. Still others complaining about short battery life - could the faster CPU be an issue?
I really want to get the Incredible - I am available to upgrade and I feel I can sell the Droid on EBay or Craig's List and possibly break even. I have played with a friend's Nexus One and love the feel and weight of the Nexus One - but from what I hear no Nexus One for Verizon.
So I am hoping that the problems are in fact isolated for one reason or another. Many are saying that the Incredible is incredible. One forum had a post about an update to the Incredible software? Anyone verify that?
It would be nice to have a sticky post for The Good, a sticky post for The Bad and maybe a sticky post for The Ugly! so people can review the experiences.
I am still planning on going with the Incredible but I'll wait a week or two.
How about some really good experiences and impressions with the Incredible. By the way, someone said the FM works great.
From what I have read in other forums, the reboot issue may be resolved.
As for the keyboard, I did nto get a Touch Diamond previously due to the on screen keyboard. But with this screen I am having no issues and for most texts I use the Voice to Text Option. You just cant say too much at once. but ya break it up into 5 words sections, it works great and no typing.
I have not scene much of a battery issue in normal use. In setting up all I wanted, yeah it took the first charge quickly, but I am lasting two days without a charge now.
Seems to be many complaints about the battery life. Could the faster CPU be an issue?
