I student came into the library where I work and showed me his new Droid X. This was the day it was released. He said that he had been studying at a Starbucks next door to our VZW store and the line started forming at around 3pm. He got in line (took his books and studied some more I guess) and the store opened at Midnight. He got out of VZW store at like 2 or 3 in the morning with a Droid X in hand. I was amazed the he waited in a line for so long, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
He said something about our VZW store was like one of the only ones to open at Midnight to sell the phone. I don't know about any of that, but he did drive a dude from the store to the airport (just a few miles) that had flown in from Atlanta that day to get this phone from our store because he knew he would not be able to get the Droid X in Atlanta!! Fly in from Atlanta for the Droid X!

What city are you in? That's crazy to fly somewhere just to buy a phone.
I live in Roanoke, VA. I agree that it is total madness to fly somewhere to get a phone. The phone better fly me back home man...
