Internal server error for Facebook

Help! I cannot open Facebook on my Droid X. I have to enter my Email and Password every time I try to open, and then it says "An internal error occurred. Please try again." I know I am typing in the correct information and this has been going on for over 8 hours now! I've tried turning the phone off, removing the battery, to no avail.

Someone please help me be able to open Facebook.

Sorry that happened ShoreLady! What you've described happens when the application is corrupt or if the site you're trying to access is down or not immediately available. If this is still occurring, I would recommend removing the Facebook app and re-installing it.

Shorelady, I've never had much luck with that Facebook app for Android. I just use the touch mobile site in the browser. I use the app for uploading pictures, but you may have to uninstall and reinstall the app as suggested to make even that work.

I guess I'm lucky - I have no issue with the FB app at all (I don't use the Widget though; it does cause performance issues for me - just the App).

OP : Have you tried the "CEAR CACHE" procedure?

Facebook app has worked for me everytime, although I am not one that spends that much time on Facebook.

Have you checked for updates to the App? I know of another person that had a simular problem and the update solved the problem
