Does anyone know if you can use your Incredible to access the internet on your computer instead of using the mobile broadband?

you can. however, it needs to be plugged in via the usb cord AND you have to have the tethering service (i think it is $20-$30/month).

The froyo update will also include VZW's wireless networking tether.

The answer is yes, however you have to have the new Verizon CD that has the droid's software on it. There is a $5 difference in price if you are currently have the 5GB plan on the laptop card. So it will still cost you an extra $55 for the 5GB access on the internet thru the HTC phone. Also when using the HTC it uses the phone as a modem, so you wont be able to use the phone for calls
