Is it time to bring my moto droid in for repairs already!?

Hey Everyone,

I've had my phone since December and loved it this whole time.  But recently it's been being a pain.

1) I've read about on the net how the headphone jack (or some software glitch) keeps the ear piece from working when you pull out the headphones.  It took me about 15 minutes to get the earpiece of the phone to actually function again today..  What's up with that?  I tried plugging in and pulling out the head phones, wigglign them around a little, and turned the phone off and on like 4 times.. It wasn't until I smacked the phone into my hand like a pack of cigarettes or something that the ear piece came on.

2) My phone can't seem to access youtube anymore.  Whether using the app that came with the phone or the m.youtube.com I just get, "video can't be played."

What the heck.

I've got a service plan on the phone so if I take it in and it can't be fixed it certainly will be replaced, but that requires me sending it away for 6 weeks or whatever it is, which is frankly a hassle right now.

Is there some way to fix these problems myself, or should I suck it up and send the phone to service ASAP?
