I have some apps that I don't mind auto starting (yahoo mail, facebook, and a couple others) but how can I stop some from starting without me opening them? I have Advanced Task Killer and have to kill them every so often.
My suggestion, do fret over them. They are not using resources. There is an app that will show what resources are 'open' and how much and long they run and they are using nothing.
The task killer closing these programs, only to have them open back up is a recipe to having to charge your battery most likely more than once a day.
The OS is Linux based and that is how the system works. Instead of having info in each program as Windows requires, Linux will place info in one program and if the info is needed for another, it will open that program to retrieve that info.
